1 Page Marketing Planner for Not for Profits & Charities

Oct 20, 2021

I’ve been talking to a lot of people in our community lately who have told me they don’t have a documented marketing plan.

When I ask why, it seems that it is just one of those things you never quite find the time to create.

If you fit into that category, I thought you’d benefit from a really simple planning tool – the 1 Page Marketing Plan. This is a 1 Page Marketing Plan designed for not for profits and charities to get your marketing focused and moving forward.

Why do I need a marketing plan? Without one you will tend to fall into the ‘tactics trap’ that means focusing on things like what platform you use, what to post, what cover picture to use – that stuff might be important but without the plan that it fits into, it’s probably just wasting time.

I just need brand awareness. This statement is one I hear a lot. I’m going to really put myself out there now with this, but I’m going to say you don’t. A large company has the budget, motivation and need for brand awareness. If you’re Coke, you definitely need it. But the vast majority of organisations we work with – don’t.

What you really need. As a not for profit or cause, what you really need from your marketing is trackable, measurable results that help you achieve organisational goals.

What I want you to do now, is sit down and create your own 1 Page Marketing plan. Grab a piece of paper or a whiteboard and divide the space up into 8 quadrants.

On that page on want you to put the following headers in each section:

  1. My goal from this marketing plan is….
  2. My target market is…
  3. The message my target market needs to hear is…
  4. Where I am going to reach my market…
  5. I’m going to capture leads by….
  6. I am going to build trust with my leads by….
  7. I’m going to convert my leads to this outcome…
  8. I am going to measure my success with…

If you can answer each of these questions succinctly and specifically, you’ve got yourself your first marketing plan.

I’d love to see how you go with this. Take a photo or a screenshot of your new 1 Page Marketing Plan & send it through to me.

If you want our help to get a more detailed marketing plan created, head to our contact page and let us know. We’re always happy to do a one on one chat and talk through what you need and how we can help.
